I want to set it up so that I can use my Yamaha DGX 500 digital piano as both a controller and a sound module for Pro Tools 7.3. The MIDI hardwaré setup was straightfórward. The DGX 500 has MIDI INOUT ports on its back panel (and not the MIDI USB connection like the newer DGX kb series). I simply cabled from its MIDI ports to my MOTU Fastlane unit. On the kéyboard, I sét its Local sétting to off viá its LED ménu display, to disconnéct the pianos sóund module from thé controller. Unforunately, the AudioMIDI Setup windows scroll-down list of MIDI presets doesnt include the DGX 500. I have thé DGX 500 Owners Manual (which can still be downloaded from the Yamaha website.
